Holds a degree in linguistics from the University of Pavia where she concentrated her studies on language acquisition of bilingual children. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD. in linguistics and didactics through a consortium between the Universities of Torino, Basel, and London.

Marianna is also founding member of Nema Frontiera, a volunteer association that aids a number of cities in Bosnia that were destroyed by the recent war.

Lewis and Clark College: B.A. in Communications. Coordinates service learning in Education for Siena Italian Studies. Has worked as the English Program Coordinator for the Siena public kindergartens for four years as well as interpreter for the AC Siena professional soccer team. Michael is also a founding member of the Associzaione Culturale Ulisse, an association that works to promote intercultural exchange.

State University of New York at Geneseo: B.A. in History. Coordinates program activities in Siena, acts as a liaison between Siena Italian Studies and American universities as well as coordinate student recruitment efforts. Currently pursuing a second degree in Intercultural Mediation and Linguistics with a focus on Arabic language at the Unversita per Stranieri di Siena. She works as an interpreter in Siena and is a founding member of the Associazione Culturale Ulisse, an association that works to promote intercultural exchange.
