Siena Italian Studies offers summer programs of varying lengths. These include: one month, 6 week and 2 month options, starting from mid-May and running through July.
SIS offers two types of summer programs: A Service-Learning Program offered in collaboration with the International Partnership for Service-Learning and Leadership (IPSL) and an Intensive Italian Language and Culture Program. These programs are offered with varying lengths, please see below for details about program dates.
1-Month IPSL Service-Learning Program* (please see www.ipsl.org for all price and application information)
Session I: May 25th to June 25th, 2009
Session II: June 26th to July 25th, 2009 *Students can also elect to participate in both summer sessions.
Students perform 15-20 hours a week of service in the community and take the following courses during this 4-week program in Siena: Italian Language and ÒService in Contemporary Italian SocietyÓ. All students live with local host families and will participate in a series of excursions and activities during each term.

Students will take a combination of Italian Language and content courses. The number of courses a student can take will depend on the length of the individual program chosen. All students live with local host families and will participate in a series of excursions and activities during each term.
