Each semester begins with a three-day orientation where students get to know our staff and are introduced to various aspects of the coming semester. In addition, we'll start exploring the various intriguing, though sometimes contradictory, characteristics of Italy and Italians today.
The orientation site varies from semester to semester, but it is always held at a location rich with culture, art and history. After the orientation the group moves to Siena where they meet their host families for the first time.
The first three weeks of the semester are dedicated to learning Italian, visiting service sites and getting to know the host families.
